Advocacy Group requests investigation into gospel singer Kanvee Adams allegations against Bishop Jermaine Jones

An advocacy group comprising different individuals and institutions named and styled For 1 CHILD / Kahtayquah is calling on the government and other relevant groups to thoroughly investigate allegations made against Bishop Jermaine Jones by international gospel singer, Kanvee Gaines Adams.

According to a statement issued in Monrovia, the group said ‘It has been hinted / alleged that a sex offender lives among us, and that this person is leading a flock of people as a bishop within the Christian Community. This information was made public via social media, and we are not taking it lightly. No, we are not taking it with a pinch of salt, and of course, we are not taking it lying down. No!’

The group says they do not want to live in a society where it will be implied that they lived in history, heard about an alleged child molester or sex offender and did nothing. For them posterity will judge them wrongly.

‘Let us not have a repeat of a Tobias Bowen situation. Tobias Bowen was a serial rapist in one part of the world. Somehow he ended up in Liberia and became a leader in our country, head of the Redemption Hospital. Now, how a sex offender slipped through the cracks and became the head of one of the biggest hospitals of our land is still a mystery. The result: Many people, especially children, fell prey to this sick man. This is a man who even raped his own daughters for years, according to them, of course,’ the statement continued.

In the heat of the National Pastoral Network’s endorsement of candidate Thomas Fallah and fully anointing him that drew public debates, the international Liberian gospel celebrity posted ‘I’m liking it the more hahaha. Bishop Jaimane Jones you think sending thugs to fabricate lies against me will help u? I’m coming. The world will know how you damaged the little girl’s anus and begged to settle it family way.’

Kanvee had planned to make return of more revelations which didn’t materialize as several others reportedly intervened; by then, the allegations were already in the public glare which prompted a quick solidarity movement.

The group says to national actors ‘If the allegation is true, please deal with Bishop Jermaine Jones according to the laws of the Republic of Liberia. We have already delivered letters to the Liberia Council of Churches, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Gender.’

The statement signed by the group’s leader Guladia T. Nyamalon and several others is already gaining steam amongst actors.

The Liberian leader following days of protest against continuous rape in the country, has announced the menace as a national emergency and provided immediate funding to speed up cases amongst others.

Singer Kanvee Adams is currently based in Nigeria where she is signed to big record label while the Bishop runs a Ministry in Liberia.
