CoP suspended Youths resign, join ranks with CDC

Suspended Youths of the Council of Patriots have officially resigned from the civil society body while undergoing suspension.

In a letter sent to CoP Chair, Henry Costa the group said they have understood the reality that CoP as a civil rights movement cannot eliminate herself for Political Institutions that are without any logical and reasonable alternative (s) to the nation’s problems.

The CoP youths continued ‘Sadly, they’ve undermined the CoP and the Liberian people on many occasions while refusing to stand with CoP in the troubleshooting times.’

An elaborate event was help Thursday at CDC Headquarters to welcome the CoP youths with Monrovia City Mayor and Youth League Chair of CDC Jefferson Koijee presiding over the gathering.

Several key actors of the CDC attended the ceremony which was carried on several news outlets.

Recently the CoP suspended some members of its youth wing for acts that ran contrary to the existence of the entity especially with reports that they were in bed with the regime, something the group denied.

As at the writing of this story, the National Chapter of the CoP hasn’t commented on the deflection of their Youth League officials.

Below is full resignation note from CoP youths:

Mr. Henry P. Costa

We want to have you enlighten that we’re resigning our positions:

  2. Joshua F. Karr- Vice Chair for Mobilization
  3. Foday N. Massaquoi- Secretary General
  4. Pukar Robert- Public Relations Officer
  5. Kendrick Pelenah- Vice Chair for Administration
  6. Henry Tabla- Member

Mr. Chairman, we have understood the reality that COP as a civil rights movement cannot eliminate herself for Political Institutions that are without any logical and reasonable alternative (s) to the nation’s problems; sadly, they’ve undermined the COP and the Liberian people on many occasions while refusing to stand with CoP in the troubleshooting times.

In view of the above, we want to personally appreciate your tremendous support towards us and the motherland but we’re resigning from the COP to stand with Liberia’s forwardness. At the appropriate time, we will reunite when it’s evitable.

Finally, we want to be very concise to everyone that Liberia is for all Liberians; henceforth, only Liberians will transform this motherland.

Best regards,

Signed:
Ben B. Togbah
Joshua F. Karr
Kendrick Pelenah
Foday N. Massaquoi
Henry Tabla
Pukar Robert
Robertson Monboe
