The Monrovia City Court has issued a writ of arrest for EFFL President Emmanuel Gonquoi.
This comes as an instruction from the national Legislature.
Gonquoi and colleagues during an early morning hours recently marched onto the Capitol and locked all the premises for what they called ‘Thievery’ at the Legislature.
The Economic Freedom Fighters of Liberia, a subsidiary of the EFF of Julius Malema of South Africa has brought a military styled of engagement to Liberian politics with a uniformed red beret, red shirts and khaki trousers.
The group said it’s unfortunate that Lawmakers will receive 30K USD each while majority of Liberians live on less than a dollar a day.
Receiving of 30K by each lawmaker in the wake of COVID pandemic has brought the body to public condemnation.
Emmanuel Gonquoi earlier Friday following the pronouncement was made, took to social media saying he has heard the news ofbof hishhis arrest but hasn’t been issued any writ.
‘Truth FM 96.1 has announced that my arrest has been made legal by a court action. With this, I’m yet to be serve the writ and still waiting for it’ he stated.
