COVID19 Vaccines In Town

At least hundred thousand COVID19 Vaccines have arrived to Liberia to facilitate the tremendous reduction in COVID cases nationwide.

Dr. Peter Clements, on behalf of the COVAX Facility said this was WHO’s way of committing itself to eradicating the illness and supporting the Liberian health program.

Liberia’s cases have significantly dropped but the new vaccine is a global strategy for complete eradication of the disease.

US Ambassador to Liberia, Michael McCarth, who attended the turning over ceremony said, progress for Liberia’s health recovery is insight with the consignment arrival.

He expressed his government’s continues support to the country health program.

He said the next step is most critical to providing the Logistical support, and corrective measures to the public to ensure that the vaccine get to those who need it the most.

“The United States is committed to working with partners around the world including partners in Liberia, to end the devastating public health and economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, and U.S. commitment of four million United States dollars to support the COVAX distribution on Liberia, built-on decades of U.S. investment in global health and global health organizations, demonstrates President Joe Bliden commitment to ensuring multi-national partnership on global health issues.”

Liberia’s Health and Foreign Affairs Ministers also attended the crucial turning over ceremony.

Minister Jallah said, government attaches serious importance to the protection of its citizens especially with the arrival COVAX Vaccine.
