Deputy EPA Chief Eyes Montserrado Legislative Seat

The Deputy Executive Director of the Environment Protection Agency (EPA), Mr. Randall Dobayou, has hinted on contesting the representative seat of MontserradoCounty In Electoral District 8.

Liberians go to the polls next year to elect a President and Vice President as well as 88 members of the Legislature.

Political consultations and early endorsements are taking place across the country ahead of the elections, and Dobayou is one of those harboring ambition for legislative politics.

In a social media post on Sunday, January 16, 2022, Mr. Dobayou said he could be an option since the sitting Representative Acarous Gray had ruled out a possibility of seeking reelection in the district.

“Gracefully Hon. Gray said he is not re-contesting in District 8 Mont-this is the dearest district we lived our entire boyhood life. It shouldn’t be late finding someone.#CDC.”

Even though he’s not emphatic in the post, Dobayou’s responses through comments to inquiries by his followers clearly confirm his interest.

The Deputy EPA boss, a recent MSc. graduate from Clark University, is an official of the governing Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) youth league.

He has been holding the position of Deputy EPA Director since 2018 during the inception of the Weah-led government.

The youthful government official became acting head of the agency following the suspension and subsequent dismissal of his boss then, Nathaniel Blama.

He’s among officials of the government credited for exceptional performance owing to suitability.

Post-war elections history shows that Montserrado District 8 politics has been dominated by the CDC, and contesting on the party ticket could see him elected to the House of Representatives.
