Grand Kru and Lofa faceoff for Deputy Speaker post tomorrow

So far, Lofa and Grand Kru are expected to faceoff in the Deputy Speaker’s top role tomorrow on Capitol Hill.

Representatives Fonati Koffa and Clarence Massaquoi are vigorously doing last minute canvassing which is expected to seal for them a win tomorrow.

For the most part it’s opposition CPP vs ruling CDC clash for the top role which some Legislators have ruled out will be on that basis.

Rep. Vincent Willie during many interviews have said lawmakers vote for different reasons far beyond party line at times.

Political pundits however say for the sake of balance of power, Rep. Koffa who hails from the Southeast, same party and county as the President, renders him completely unelectable.

There is an unexpected third candidate to emerge as Deputy Speaker contender, primarily a female from Bong or Montserrado.

As it sits, it remains a two horse race so far and yet hard to call.

Rep. Koffa was a key contender for the Speakership race from the inception of the CDC government but that dream was short-lived though he heavily invested.

Clarence Massaquoi, beyond his huge CPP backing is an astute lawmaker from vote rich Lofa with two terms to his credit.

Any winner from tomorrow will be replacing Deputy Speaker Prince Moye who was recently elected as Senator of Bong County.
