In continuation of series of engagements, the Director of Press at the House of Representatives, Robert Haynes, has reaffirmed the Bureau commitment to ensuring a peaceful coexistence between the House of Representatives and the media.
“We want to reassure the public and the media that the House of Representatives Press Bureau is committed to working with all media organizations in communicating and defending the workings of the honorable House of Representatives”.Director Haynes stressed.
Speaking Friday in a brief meeting with the leadership of the Press Union of Liberia at its Clay Street Headquarters in Monrovia, Director Haynes said the Press Bureau will highly appreciate Journalists covering the House to conduct themselves professionally and channel all media related issues through the Press Bureau.
According to the House Press Director his engagement with the PUL is to strengthen the already existing relationship between the House and the media.
For his part the President of the Press Union of Liberia Charles Coffey thanked Director Haynes for the meeting and expressed delight over his appointment as a professional Liberian journalist to the post, particularly in a role as media person.
He said the PUL will work with the House Press Bureau Director and at the same time will speak with legislative reporters to work collaboratively with the bureau in the discharge of their duties.
In another development, the House of Representative Director of Press Friday signed the Book of condolence for a former legislative reporter Charlesetta W. Miller.
Mr. Robert Haynes was recently appointed as Director of Press of the House of Representatives by House Speaker Dr. Bhofal
