Liberia Council of Churches begins sending monitors to campaign rallies

In an effort to ensure a violent free elections and all processes leading to the mid-term senatorial elections, the Liberia Council of Churches has vowed to ensure the presence of monitors at all political rallies/campaigns.

‘On today; our monitors were at the official campaign launch of the ruling coalition for democratic change at the SKD Sports Complex in Paynesville,’ a statement from LCC said Saturday.

The Council of Churches praised CDC’s Saturday’s rally terming it free and void of violence.

The LCC says it looks forward to more peaceful assemblies from all political parties, candidates and supporters.

The LCC latest move comes in the wake of serious tension ahead of the Dec 8 midterm election where fifteen senatorial seats are up for grasp.

On Saturday, the CDC rallied thousands at the Samuel Kanyan Doe Stadium for its Montserrado Senatorial candidate Thomas Fallah and District 9 candidate Saah Foko.
