Lofa wins County Meet first time in decades

Lofa County has won this year’s County Meet first time in generations.

The historic win took place Sunday at the Samuel K. Doe Sports Stadium in Paynesville.

Thousands trooped to the field on Sunday with many others fainting and having bruises as the crowd swelled.

Lofa won her challenger Montserrado three goals to one in what was seen as a spectacular soccer encounter.

There were reports of huge celebration in Lofa County as locals in various cities,towns and villages celebrated their win for the first time.

A huge Lofa delegation including the players led by Mayor Jefferson Koijee will be heading to the county to celebrate the win.

Momo Cyrus head of the Steering Committee is holding a dinner for the players today as expressing the Committee’s appreciation of the team.
