The Political Leader of the People’s Liberation Party (PLP), Dr. Daniel E. Cassell has donated to marketers and youths of Clara Town community with a sum of L$500,000 each.
He disclosed that the amount of L$500,000 given to the marketers is an interest-free micro-loan gesture provided to enable them to engage in businesses or improve their petty businesses to help them and their respective family members.
The PLP founder made the donation at the weekend when he visited the slum community and said the money given to the young people should be used for educational purposes, particularly vocational and technical training initiatives.
Dr. Cassell disclosed that over the years, young people in Liberia have been unable to acquire quality education as a result of lack of support from the government and potential individuals.
The PLP leader, therefore, thinks the time is now to extend helping hands to young people in order to prepare them for quality education and a better future.
By empowering young people adequately, Dr. Cassell noted that this is only way they will become future and productive leaders.
“Gone are the days where young people were used and abused by failed and recycled politicians for little or nothing, leaving them to suffer and experience severe hardship in the end,” he indicated.
Meanwhile, Dr. Cassell has promised Clara Town dwellers that he will rehabilitate a major bridge in the community to address the constraints residents and others face when commuting from one end to the other.
In response, the beneficiaries lauded Dr. Cassell for his immense and untiring contributions towards improving the lives of the Liberian people.
