The Political Leader of the People’s Liberation Party (PLP) Dr. Daniel E. Cassell has hit Lofa County (his county of origin) with a mammoth crowd receiving him. Elders, youths and women were on hand to grace a man they regard as their very own son.
Upon landing in the county, Dr. Cassell said he was grateful to the people of the county for the reception accorded him but was quick to say that he wasn’t surprised, giving that the people there have always been known for welcoming strangers in grand style.
According to the PLP founder, his presence in the county is intended to identify with the plights of the people and to make it known that the PLP is the best alternative for 2023 as far as governance in Liberia is concerned.
Dr. Cassell students and faculty at Lofa Community College that now is the time for visionaries to be allowed to showcase their goodwill in terms of restoring the lost hope of Liberians.
The PLP Political Leader called on Lofa citizens to rest assured he will be their servant and that the ongoing visiting he is paying in the county will yield dividends.
Dr. Cassell is in the county when the Holy Month of Ramadan has begun and therefore he has urged Liberian Muslims to fast and pray for improvements in the living conditions of the fellow compatriots and the growth and development of the country’s struggling economy. He visited a mosque and held prayers with citizens.
Dr. Cassell believes that the living conditions of Liberians continue to worsen, while the country’s economy is declining. He said Liberian Muslims must use this time to remember their fellow citizens, most of whom are hopeless battling difficulties in the Liberian society.
“As you begin this year’s month of fasting and praying, I ask that all Muslims remember our nation in prayers as the safety, economic and living conditions of our citizens continue to worsen and more people are becoming hopeless day by day.”
He recalled that last year’s fasting and praying for Muslims was a “difficult one” due to the outbreak of the Corona Virus Pandemic in Liberia.
“Many of our fathers, mothers, brothers, and sisters who were with us this time last year, are nowhere around for this year’s event. However, the mercy of God almighty continues to keep us alive – a gift of life that we are very thankful for.”
Dr. Cassell admonished Liberian Muslims that the fight against Covid-19 has not ended, and as such, they should continue to observe the preventive measures put in place by health authorities to curtail the further spread of the virus across the country.
“As Muslims gather during their annual religious event in observance of the month of Ramadan, I want to say congratulations and pray that God Almighty grant you the strength and courage throughout this holy event”.
“For and on behalf of the People’s Liberation Party, I wish all Muslims in Liberia and around the world, a happy and successful observance of the month of Ramadan.”
