With two counties remaining on his nationwide county tour, President George Manneh Weah broke ground in River Gee County for the construction of a mini hydro power plant along the River Gee.
According to Authorities of the Rural and Renewable Energy Agency, the dam when completed will supply electricity to adjoining cities and towns in River Gee and Maryland Counties.
‘At the same time, President Weah inspected ongoing construction at the Gee River Bridge, as well as asphalt pavement from Karloken to Fish Town (80km),’ a Public Works release said Tuesday.
Acting Public Works Minister, Hon. Ruth Coker-Collins says approximately 81% progress has been made.
Meanwhile, the Public Works Official used the occasion to announce the dedication of Phase I of the Haper – Karloken (50km) and Harper – Cavalla Custom (16km) Corridor Road which is expected to take place on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Cavalla Junction.
