MONROVIA, Liberia — September 2, 2026: President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has made several appointments across key government institutions, including the Ministries of Justice, Gender, Children and Social Protection, and Local Government.
The appointments, announced by the Executive Mansion on Wednesday, September 2, also affect the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC) and the National Transit Authority (NTA).
At the Ministry of Justice, Cllr. Betty M. Lamin-Blamo has been appointed Minister of Justice, replacing outgoing Minister Oswald N. Tweh. Cllr. Abrahim Boimah Sillah, Sr. has meanwhile been appointed Solicitor General, succeeding Augustine Fayiah.
According to the Executive Mansion, both Tweh and Fayiah are expected to be reassigned to other levels of government.
The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection will also see new appointments. Angel M. Morris has been named Deputy Minister for Public Affairs, while Harrison K. Sorsor has been appointed Assistant Minister for Research, Policy and Planning.
In another major appointment, Alex Chersia Grant has been named Commissioner of the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC).
At the county level, Christopher Ben Bailey has been appointed Superintendent of Grand Gedeh County under the Ministry of Local Government.
Meanwhile, Benedict Yeke Harleysion, Sr. has been reappointed Chairman of the Board of the National Transit Authority (NTA).
The Executive Mansion says the appointments are part of President Boakai’s ongoing efforts to strengthen key government institutions and improve the delivery of public services.
Where applicable, the nominees will be subject to confirmation by the Liberian Senate.
