Pro Temp Constitutes Senate Committees

Senate Pro Temp Albert Tugbeh Chie has constituted various committees of the Upper House of the Legislature.

Senator Saah Joseph of Montserrado County is retained as Chairman on Executive, while Wellington Geevon-Smith becomes Co-Chairman. Members are Prince Johnson (Nimba County), Morris Saytumah (Bomi County), Henrique Tokpah (Bong County), Darius Dillon (Montserrado County) and Botoe Kanneh (Gbarpolu County).

James Biney of Maryland County chairs the Committee on Foreign Affairs, while the Co-Chairman is Conmany Wesseh of River Gee. Members are Darius Dillon (Montserrado County), Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence (Grand Bassa County) and J. Milton Teahjay (Sinoe County). The Committee comprises a total of 9 persons.

Wellington Geevon-Smith of River Cess County becomes Chairman on Labor, while J. Milton Teahjay of Sinoe County is Co-Chairman. Members include Prince Johnson (Nimba County), Jim Tornolah (Margibi County), Varney Sherman (Grand Cape Mount County), Steve Zargo (Lofa County), Francis Paye (River Cess County) and Darius Dillon (Montserrado County).

Morris Saytumah of Bomi County chairs the Committee on Ways, Means, Finance and Budget, while Prince Moye of Bong County becomes the Co-Chairman.

The Committee on Rules, Order and Administration is retained by Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence of Grand Bassa County, while Francis Paye of River Cess County becomes Co-Chairman.

The Committee on Maritime is headed by Jonathan Kaipay of Grand Bassa County, while Morris Saytumah of Bomi County is Co-Chairman.

Augustine Chea of Sinoe County chairs the Committee on Health and assisted by Daniel Naatehn of Gbarpolu County.

The Committee on Internal Affairs, Governance and Reconciliation is headed by Gbleh-bo Brown of Maryland County, while the Co-Chairman is J. Milton Teahjay of Sinoe County.

Prince Moye is Chairman of the Committee on Education and Public Administration and Co-Chairman is Lofa County Number 2.

The Committee on Public Works and Rural Development is chaired by Edwin Melvin Snowe, Jr. of Bomi County, while Jeremiah K. Koung of Nimba becomes Co-Chairman.

The Committee on Public Accounts and Audit is chaired by J. Emmanuel Nuquay of Margibi County, while Jeremiah Koung of Nimba County becomes Co-Chairman.

J. Milton Teahjay of Sinoe County is Chairman of the Committee on Public Corporations, while the Co-Chairman is Gbleh-bo Brown of Maryland County.

The Committee on Commerce, Trade and Industry is headed by Francis Paye, while the Co-Chairman is J. Emmanuel Nuquay of Margibi County.

Jim Tornolah of Margibi County heads the Committee on Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery while the Co-Chairman is Edwin Melvin Snowe of Bomi County.

Numene T.H. Bartekwa of Grand Kru County becomes Chairman of the Committee on Concession and Investment, while Francis Paye of River Cess becomes the Co-Chairman.

The Committee on Youth and Sports is headed by Conmany B. Wesseh of River Gee County, while Darius Dillon of Montserrado County becomes the Co-Chairman.

The Committee on Lands, Mines, Energy and Natural Resources is headed by Grand Cape Mount County Number 2, while Jonathan Kaipay of Grand Bassa County becomes Co-Chairman.

The Committee on Posts and Telecommunications is headed by Jeremiah Koung of Nimba County, while the Co-Chairman is Numene T.H. Bartekwa of Grand Kru County.

The Committee on Transport is headed by Daniel F. Naatehn of Gbarpolu County, while Darius Dillon of Montserrado County is the Co-Chairman.

Marshall Dennis of Grand Gedeh County is the Chairman of the Committee on Banking and Currency, while the Co-Chairman is Gbleh-bo Brown of Maryland County.

Meanwhile, the election of Prince Johnson of Nimba County as Chairman on Defense, Intelligence, Security and Veterans Affairs and that of Varney Sherman of Grand Cape Mount County as Chairman on Judiciary are on hold following condemnations by the US Government.

Henrique Tokpah of Bong County is retained as Chairman of the Committee on Autonomous Commissions, while Jim Tornolah of Margibi County becomes Co-Chairman.

Zoe Emmanuel Pennue of Grand Gedeh County becomes Chairman of the Committee on Social Security, Pension and Insurance, while Steve Zargo of Lofa County becomes Co-Chairman.

The Committee on Gender, Social Welfare, Women and Children is chaired by Botoe Kanneh of Gbarpolu County, while the Co-Chairman is Conmany B. Wesseh of River Gee County.

The Committee on Legislative Modernization is chaired by Conmany B. Wesseh of River Gee County, while Darius Dillon of Montserrado County is Co-Chairman. Other Committee members are J. Milton Teahjay (Sinoe County), Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence (Grand Bassa County), Wellington Geevon-Smith (River Cess County) and Gbleh-bo Brown (Maryland County).

The Committee on Information, Broadcasting, Culture and Tourism is headed by Jonathan Boye Charles Sogbe of River Gee County, while Wellington Geevon-Smith of River Cess is the Co-Chairman.
