Rep. Foko Offers Peace Pipe To Rival Fubbi Henries

Since the outcome of the hugely contested by-election in Montserrado County Electoral District  Number 9, eventual winner Frank Saah Foko and closest rival Fubbi Henries appear to still be at loggerheads.

Following the December 8, 2021 voting process, Foko reclaimed the seat for the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), while Henries got defeated on the ticket of the major opposition Collaborating Political Parties (CPP). Henries challenged the results but the National Elections Commission (NEC) upheld its victory verdict in favor of Foko. Other contestants were Miller Catakaw, James Salinsa Debbah, Cyvette Gibson, Saah Roberts and Edmond Lloyd.

However, since Foko retained the seat for the CDC following the death of his boss, Representative Munah Pelham-Youngblood, defeated candidate Henries is yet to concede to the victor but continues to maintain a critical posture, especially on social media.

Despite Henries’ open refusal to concede, Representative Foko disclosed that he has a very cordial working relationship with the rest of the former candidates except his closest rival.

“We have reached out to most of our opponents including Miller Catakaw, Edmund Lloyd and Saah Roberts. Only Fubbi Henries does not speak to me but we will still make efforts to reach out to him,” he stated when appearing on the OK Morning Rush on 99.5 FM in Monrovia on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.

“We shouldn’t look at the issues of Foko but the district as a whole. I am not in competition with anyone but for the sake of the district, let’s work together,” he mentioned.

The young lawmaker promised that he won’t enter into a fussing contest with anyone, especially on social media as fighting politically will not help those he represents.

“I beg Fubbi to please come and help me by adding to what we have already done. If Fubbi has a place to camp our district players, let him tell me and we will come there. Too much confusion has not helped this country,” the District 9 Representative further stated.
