Monrovia, Liberia – December 12, 2025-The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has arrested award-winning Liberian musician Karwordou Cole, popularly known as Bucky Raw, along with several other individuals during an early-morning drug operation in Monrovia.
According to the LDEA, the arrests were made at approximately 7:00 a.m. Thursday at Cole’s residence along Duport Road, following the execution of a court-issued search and seizure warrant under the agency’s nationwide anti-drug campaign, Operation Clean Wave.
During the operation, officers reportedly recovered 31.6 grams of marijuana, which was seized as evidence.
Bucky Raw is widely recognized in Liberia’s music industry for his craft and has won several awards for his contributions to local music and entertainment. His work has earned him a strong following both at home and within the Liberian diaspora. The musician previously lived in the United States, where he built part of his music career, but was later deported, according to public records and past media reports.
The LDEA stated that Cole and the other individuals arrested are currently under investigation and will be forwarded to court in keeping with Liberia’s drug laws. The agency emphasized that drug-related offenses in Liberia are non-bailable, contrary to claims circulating on social media platforms.
Reaffirming its commitment to curbing drug trafficking and abuse, the LDEA has urged the public to support ongoing efforts by reporting suspicious activities through its hotlines: 0777-133-333 or 0888-133-333.
The agency said Operation Clean Wave remains active nationwide as authorities intensify efforts to dismantle drug networks and promote public safety.
