The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) has announced that a number of current and former government officials have been cleared of corruption allegations following investigations into several cases involving public institutions and private entities.

According to information released, the anti-graft institution concluded investigations into multiple cases and found no sufficient evidence to prosecute the individuals involved. The officials come from a wide range of government ministries, agencies, commissions, and private sector institutions that had been under scrutiny.

Among those cleared is Hasson A. Kobeissi, Chief Executive Officer of BMC Group Construction Company, who had been investigated in connection with matters involving the Liberia Telecommunications Corporation.

Also cleared are AJ Armah Karneh and Richard Hoff, both officials of the Liberia Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission, following investigations related to the operations of the commission.

In another case, Dr. Porkpa G. Zayzay, former Medical Director associated with the Bong Mines Company case, was also cleared by the commission.

Officials of the Liberia Agriculture Commodity Regulatory Authority (LACRA) were also among those cleared, including Hon. Chea B. Gurley, Deputy Director General for Administration, and Christopher D. Sankolo.

The commission further cleared Hon. Sekou M. Kromah, Postmaster General, along with Mr. Patrick Paye-Tee, Procurement Director at the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications.

At the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA), Ansu V.S. Dulleh, Executive Director, and Ms. Vivian G. Walker, Procurement Director, were cleared following investigations into procurement-related matters.

Former Minister of State for Presidential Affairs Nathaniel F. McGill was also cleared in relation to allegations linked to payroll irregularities at the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs.

Additional individuals cleared include Abraham B. Kamara, Payroll Analyst at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, linked to the Lofa University case, and Joseph S. Sheriff, Finance Manager of the Liberia Football Association.

Others cleared include James M. Flomoyan, former Chairman of LINCA; Vahkpannah B.K. Wymon, Vice Chairman of LINCA; Delino Brayant, General Manager of the Liberia Renaissance Group; and Mustapha I. Rajii, associated with the Liberia Football Association.

Officials connected to the Margibi County Health Team case at the Ministry of Health—including Dornu Horace and Johnson Williams—were also cleared.

The list also includes Daniel Y. Kollah of United Bank for Africa (UBA), Bill McGill Jones of the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, Ballah V. Yargbo and Joseph C. Vah of the Ministry of Justice.

Others cleared by the commission are Dr. Morlu Karsor, Beyan M.M. Kamara, Sensee J. Morris of the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation, Octavious J. Sampason of the National Water Sanitation and Hygiene Commission (NWASH), and Emma Metieh Glassco, Director General of the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA).

The LACC’s decision to clear the officials follows investigative processes conducted into allegations of corruption, procurement irregularities, payroll padding, and administrative misconduct in several public institutions.

The Commission noted that investigations are conducted based on complaints received and evidence gathered, and that individuals are cleared when allegations cannot be substantiated.

The announcement is expected to generate renewed debate about corruption investigations, public accountability, and institutional transparency within Liberia’s governance system.
