Monrovia, Liberia – May 2, 2025 — In a powerful turn of events that underscores both legal compliance and progressive leadership, Naomi Nagbe, an educator and seasoned female gladiator is set to make history this Sunday as she will be officially inducted as Co-Chair and Acting Chair of the Grand Bassa University Student Union Veterans Association (GBUSUVA). The induction, taking place at the True Vine Fire Ministry on Daniel Chea Road, comes in the wake of a court order from the Second Judicial Circuit Court of Grand Bassa County, which has stayed the certification of the previously declared Chairman and instructed the immediate installation of officers whose elections remain undisputed.
The court’s directive has paved the way for Nagbe, a respected student leader and advocate for inclusion, to assume the organization’s highest post in an acting capacity. With the chairman position under legal scrutiny, the court order mandates a halt to his induction until an investigation is concluded — leaving Nagbe, the next in line, to steer the ship of GBUSUVA during this critical transitional period.
A New Chapter for Women in Leadership
Naomi Nagbe’s rise is not just a procedural move; it’s a symbolic victory for young women across Liberia. Her induction marks a rare moment in the organization’s history — a woman ascending to the role of Acting Chair at a time when female voices are increasingly demanding space in decision-making arenas long dominated by men.
“Naomi embodies the strength, intellect, and vision that GBUSUVA needs right now,” said Togar Alexander Bealded, a GBUSUVA stakeholder. “Her leadership will bring balance and clarity as the organization navigates this legal and political crossroads.”
From the Margins to the Helm
Known for her calm resolve and people-centered approach, Nagbe has been instrumental in fostering dialogue among GBUSUVA’s various blocs. Her leadership style, grounded in consensus-building and active listening, is expected to restore calm and purpose after weeks of electoral tension.
Supporters of her leadership say she brings a breath of fresh air, not only as a woman but as a leader who has always chosen service over noise, progress over position.
