The Capitol Hill saga is taking a new dimension with a one on one meeting with the Speaker and President last night according to high place sources.
The meeting arranged by Mrs. Koffa, family to the President, the embattled Speaker committed to resigning but pleaded with the President to name him Chief Justice when the current Chief Justice tenure expires next year.
Chief Justice Youh clocks seventy next year, the time set aside for retirement from the Supreme Court Bench.
Speaker Koffa, a lawyer himself wants to officially retire from the Legislature after humiliation where an overwhelming decision to have him ousted is in full sight.
Our sources say, the President has since asked VP Koung to work out the modalities for said possibility but it remains sketchy.
Over 44 members of the House of Representatives have signed a resolution to remove the Speaker who came to office just in January.
Latest of that number being the Deputy Speaker Thomas Fallah who since took over the role of presiding over the majority.
