As the clock ticks for embattled Speaker Fonati Koffa there are reports that his minority bloc is contemplating on putting forth Nimba County Representative Musa Bility for Speakership.
Bility has been reportedly garnering resources in millions to jumpstart an early campaign in case the worst happens for the Speaker.
The Speaker’s minority bloc saw a major blow Thursday when Deputy Speaker Thomas Fallah in an unceremonious faction that shifted discussions in Monrovia, crossed over to the majority bloc.
This latest development has since shattered the Koffa’s bloc leaving them with no alternative but begin making preparations for their bloc remaining a voice.
With twenty nine current lawmakers on the side of the Speaker, Musa Bility will need atleast ten others to become Speaker.
Reports have it that next week, there’s an expected exodus of lawmakers from the minority to the majority bloc which could see the Speaker removed.
For weeks the Speaker has been battling over forty colleagues who have since refused to sit under his gavel stalling normal workings of the Legislature.
That body threatened to remove Deputy Speaker Fallah had he not crossed over leaving him without any alternative but to heed Thursday.
All eyes remain on Capitol Hill!
