In a decisive move aimed at restoring order and discipline within its leadership ranks, the Board of the Grand Bassa University Student Union Veterans Association (GBUSUVA) has suspended Emmett Chea, Secretary General of the organization, with immediate effect.
According to a Board communication, Chea’s suspension follows a series of “acts inimical to the running of his office,” including the repeated and unauthorized removal of Executive Committee administrators from their designated roles. The Board cites that he has unilaterally taken key decisions without consultation or adherence to institutional procedures, thereby undermining the integrity and functionality of the Association.
The Board has further instructed Mr. Chea to present himself before the Grievance and Ethics Committee for investigation and possible additional action in line with GBUSUVA’s governing documents and disciplinary processes.
This measure, which takes immediate effect, is part of the Board’s broader effort to enforce accountability and uphold democratic norms within the Association’s leadership.
The suspension order is officially endorsed by the following elected members of the GBUSUVA Board:
1. Amos Sawmadal – Chairman
2. Emma Nippay Barclay – Co-Chair
3. Josephine Nyanpan – Member
4. Togar Alexander Bealded – Member
5. Thomas O. D. Roberts – Member
6. Grace Nyantee – Member
7. Muah Garjay – Member
8. Washington Toe Willie – Member
