Monrovia, Liberia – March 6, 2026 – The Liberia National Police (LNP) has launched an investigation into a railway accident in the White Plains area that left two people with serious bodily injuries.
According to preliminary reports from the police, the incident occurred late Thursday evening when a train traveling from Monrovia collided with a vehicle attempting to cross the railway track.
Authorities say the two injured individuals were immediately rushed to the John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Monrovia where they are currently receiving medical treatment.
Police officers assigned in White Plains have since begun an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the collision.
The Liberia National Police is meanwhile urging motorists to exercise extreme caution and strictly observe safety regulations when approaching railway crossings to prevent similar incidents.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
